The easiest way to get a Proto Drake Mount

Not that there is a super easy way to get one, but i have found the easiest listed below:

#1
Oracle Rep : Once you get to revered with the oracles, you can purchase a Mysterious Egg
. Buy the egg, wait 7 days, and click on it. You will get either one of 4 vanity pets (Cobra Hatchling, Proto-Drake Whelp, Tickbird Hatchling, White Tickbird Hatchling), Aged Yolk or you have a chance to get the Green Proto Drake.

#2

Camp out for the Time Lost Proto Drake. You could be lucky and find this one 1st time, but probably not. Apparently its on a six hour spawn, and if there is no one there to kill it, NPC's will take care of that for you unfortunately. The time lost Proto Drake spawns in Storm Peaks at (29, 65).

#3

Do a LOT of PVE and get the Glory of the Raider achievement, which rewards the Plagued Proto Drake.

#4

This is definitely not an easy way... But you could complete all of the seasonal achievements. Winter veil, Hallows End, etc. This is at least a 12 month commitment though, unless you have already been doing them ;)

Mysterious Numbers in Sholazar Basin

I know this is probably known to everyone apart from myself, and is probably part of a quest. But i came across these numbers last night... Seemingly Mysterious (but probably not ;))

Kinda reminds me of a Lost episode...

But not really, anyway... Bed time for me :P

Hunter, easy to play hard to master?

So I specked survival on the hunter the other night, as seems to be the trend at the moment for PVP anyway.

It seems to do quite well even verses the over populated DK situation at the moment.

I was chatting in guild chat last night and someone mentioned that they thought the hunter was a very hard class to play. Maybe its just cos I have been playing the hunter for ages now that i think its probably one of the easier classes to play and probably the easiest to level in the whole game. No downtime at all if you spec BM with half of the DPS you do handled by the pet, the pet also takes all the damage and you can heal it with minimal mana. Running out of mana, switch to Aspect of the viper, and it regens right back up again.

Want to AOE farm, no problem. Just get your self a Gorilla, and it can hold aggro on 5-10 (or easily more) mobs, and survive quite easily. Then if you grab aggro from too much dps, or healing the pet just Fein death. I don't really see how that's hard to master.

WoW banned in Australia

So apparently wow has now been banned in Australia. Looks like its just effecting new sales of it anyway.

Is there anything else they can do to stuff up Australia's online gaming scene, adding filters to lower our ping even more and now banning video games that havent applied for a classification that they didn't know they needed just so we can play an online game that is purchasable and down loadable online anyway.

According to the Article:

"Australian retailers will no longer be allowed to sell any online game that has not been classified by the Australian Classification Board.

This move directly affects games such as World of Warcraft, Warhammer Online, Age of Conan and Pirates of the Burning Seas – titles that don't contain a single-player experience, and therefore did not apply for classification. The previous understanding was that online games, by their nature, fell outside of traditional national classifications – a loophole that the Classifications Board want stitched up.

According to the report, a spokesperson for NSW Attorney-General John Hatzistergos said the NSW Classification Enforcement Act prohibited publishers and retailers from selling unclassified computer games. The spokesperson also encouraged individuals to report any retailer or individual found operating outside of the Classification Act of 1995.

"The NSW legislation covers computer games bought online as well as those bought in stores, and treats single, multi-player and online games the same way," he said.

Australian police will be responsible for enforcing the penalties, which range from $1100 to $11,000 for individuals and/or 12 months' imprisonment, and approximately double those figures for corporations. "

AOE Grinding on the Shadow Priest

So i had a brilliant idea that i would fast forward a few levels by aoe grinding once i hit 75 on the priest. While that seemed like a good idea in theory, its hard to tell if its actually faster than quest grinding.

On the hunter aoe grinding with a gorilla is super easy, i used to go down to the dockland area in dragonblight with all the soldiers round up around 7-10 of them on the mount and then the gorilla would take all the heat. Fein death and fire away. Its a nice easy way to get a couple of levels if you cant be bothered questing.

So anyway doing it on the priest, seemed ok, but usually take about 50% damage while taking on 5 mobs, and use a butload of mana at 840 per cast, need to cast it around 4-5 times and then as it actually doesn't effect the targeted mob you have to kill that afterwards which is just extra time.

So then i decided to logon to the rogue and do some grindage, its still 70 and i just specced combat for quick leveling grindage. Sometimes i just cant be bothered questing all over again so i just went and took down some mobs. in 1 hour i got 237k exp rested. So i guess that's not too bad, i think with questing you can get over 300k exp per hour, but that included moving from one site to another and a death. only problem is keeping awake i think.

On another note i just noticed that they have buffed Inner Fire now the spell has a 30 minute duration and it cannot be dispelled. /yay. Nothing better than getting Inner fire purged before a killer stunlock combo with minus ~3k armor.

Getting rid of the Blogger Navigation Bar

Just a FYI, this is the code i use to remove the NavBar from the top of blogger.

#Navbar1 {

margin: 0;
padding: 0;
display: none;
visibility: hidden;
}

Just go into your blogger settings page, and click on the layout tab. Then click on edit HTML. Find the body tag and paste it around there usually underneath.

Shadow Spec for Leveling the Priest

So i was going along with my previous post about leveling as holy, which seemed fine.

Then i got into a group for Nexxus and it just sucked, wiped about 6 times on the last boss before we called it. So two hours later, i was only 200k exp better off.

As i really want to start gearing up the priest for PVP and Arena's, i just want to get to 80 as fast as possible really, so i decided to spec Shadow. I know its probably the obvious leveling spec, but dam, it has some crazy dps and i dont seem to go OOM that quick either really.

I was just farming lower level animals for some quests in Dragonblight so i guess that may have had something to do with it, but mindflay was ticking for about 800-1200 and it can crit now! I wasnt even bothering to shadow word pain the mobs. Cant wait until 75 when i get the AOE skill, although that does seem to burn through a bit of mana at around 800 per cast or something.

Maybe that still has something to do with the DPS Bug?

Anyway back to grinding ;)

Here is the spec im using at the moment. 13/0/52.

Easily Updating my Addons in WoW

Well I spose most people already know about this application, but thought i would mention it anyway...

Wow Matrix.

Basically, it scans through all of your world of warcraft Addons and finds appropriate updates for them.

I remember before i found this application, i would spend most of Patch Nights going through the curse gaming libraries, and looking for updates to all the mods, but now i can be even lazier than i used to be, and just run this app ;)

Also it provides a super easy way of finding new mods, just as long as you already know the name of the mod you want, type it in and press the install button.

Leveling a Priest as Holy in WOTLK

So i was going to start leveling a paladin from scratch, as they seem so dam OP at the moment. But then i thought it was probably a better idea to level my priest as it was already at 70.

Currently im leveling it as Holy, and surprisingly its pretty quick. Not as quick as shadow i imagine but still very mana efficient, and do a fair amount of damage.

The build im using at the moment is: 14/48/3

By 80 i will be using: 14/54/3

Then i will probably re spec to disc for some PVP and Arena action.

Seems to do fairly well at the moment in standard PVP, although i do get hit pretty dam hard.

For grinding Mob's i usually use: Smite, Holy Fire, Smite, Smite, Wand. And trinket up whenever there not on CD.

If i go hard on the mobs i can take down about 20 before drinking. Just sux a bit when you have several hitting on you and there immune to fear.

Here is a more comprehensive guide for leveling a pries and gear etc that i found a while ago at dwarfpriest.com

Last night i hit 74 and im still in Borean Tundra, Leveling as rested is so much ezier than doing it without!
