Dragonhawk Mount, Mountain o' Mounts Achievement

So who can be bothered getting 100 mounts for the new Dragonhawk mount?

Just incase you are wanting to work towards this one here are a few tips ;)

Here is a Mount Checklist, if you can be bothered filling it out. Helps keep track of the mounts you already have and what you need to do to get the rest.

Apparently at the moment, this achievement is almost impossible, unless you can get your hands on one (or 12) or the 1% mount drops from instances. Looks like they have added this achievement, as something for hardcore players to achieve now, and for the rest of us to get a later a bit easier with the addition of more mounts.

Although having blizzard remove the racial requirements of all mounts has made the process a bit easier.
So pretty much you need to have all the trading card game mounts, the engineering mounts, and tailoring magic carpet mount. Or if you happen to be lucky enough to have one of the Amani War Bears from ZA, Big Blizzard Bear mount from Blizzcon '08, or arena reward mounts. It is doable for some people, but certainly not an easy task.

Here is the achievement on wowhead.

Shadow Priest DPS after 3.0.8, bug in Misery.

So some good things did come from the new content patch, It appears that Misery Stacks incorrectly causing some insanely massive DPS.

Unfortunately this isn't going to stay like this for long and will likely be hot fixed very shortly.

/respecs shadow

According to Ghostcrawler:

"There is a bug in Misery probably very similar to what Delmortis describes above.

We want Shadow priest dps to be competitive, but it can be really insane with this bug. We are looking into it. "

Delmortis from the WoW forums:

"The problem is purely with Misery.

Pre-3.0.8 Misery's DPS boosting component worked like this (on Mind Blast, Mind Sear, Mind Flay):

(base dmg + spellpower*base_coefficient*1.15)*

i.e. it in effect gave you 15% more spellpower.

What is currently happening now is:
Mind Blast:
(base dmg + spellpower*(basecoefficient+0.15))*

Mind Flay and Mind Sear:
Every single tick is:
(base tick dmg + spellpower*(basetickcoefficient+0.15))*

They've gone from multiplying the spellpower*base_coefficient factor by 115% to applying an additive boost to the coefficient (which is silly if it's not scaled for cast time) but they've made a mistake and they're applying it to every tick of the channeled spells rather than the spell as a whole.

The numbers back this up and I did proper testing on the dummy adding in talent points one at a time to make sure. "

SK Gaming - Most popular 2v2 Arena Setups

So it looks like the Holy Paladin / Unholy Death Knight Combo is winning verses all other at the moment.

Then somehow the Rogue Priest Combo is stil going strong.

So maybe the Burst DPS teams are still not quite comparing to the healer / DPS combo, provided that the healer can survive the burst.

So now i have to decide if im going to level my priest or start all over again with a paladin. I think a total re-roll is just too much effort, so i might try getting the priest to level 80, its actually not to bad leveling as Holy either, which is a nice change from DPS.

Most popular level 80 disc PVP build for arenas at the moment seems to be a variation of full disc 51/20/0.

Here are a Couple of Priest's that are high ranked in 2v2 to drool over ;)

Fish Feast - What it does and how to get the recipe.

So in patch 3.0.8 their adding a new fishing recipe:

Fish Feast!

This is the next level of the BC fisherman's feast.

Fish Feast
Binds when picked up
Requires Level 70
Use: Right Click to set out a great feast that will feed your party! Set out a great feast that will feed your party! Restores 15000 health and 12960 mana over 30 sec. If you spend at least 10 seconds eating you will become well fed and gain 80 Attack Power, 46 Spell Power and 40 Stamina for 1.00 hour.

Requires Musselback Sculpin (2), Glacial Salmon (2), Nettlefish (2), Northern Spices (4)

Better start stocking up on fish now. These things are going to sell quite well as there kinda an all in one stam buff, with spell power and attack power +80 is nothing to sniff at either for all the melee.

To get the recipe you need to hand in 5 Dalaran Cooking Awards and have learned max cooking (450).

Hunter Key Binding Setup in World of Warcraft

I usually use this setup for all of my characters in WoW. I don't go crazy and change all of the bindings or anything, still using the WASD for movement.

Bind A and D to strafe left and right rather than turn, this will give you much more freedom of movement. And will also force you to use your mouse more effectively, holding right click to spin the camera around for turning your character rather than "Key Turning" which is very slow and unaccurate.

Also i recommend cranking up the sensitivity of your mouse to a fairly high level, i have mine maxed out, but this also depends on the quality of your mouse. Recently i upgraded to a MS Habu Mouse, the thing is insanely sensative and can be changed on the fly.

Anyway back to the Key Bindings.

Wheel Up i set to Heal Pet
Wheel Down i set to Kill Command

Check the Screen shot for my other bindings:

~ Pet Attack + Hunters Mark Macro
1 : Mark
2 : Steady Shot Macro
3 : Conc Shot
4 : Viper Sting
5 : Feign Death
6 : Should be set to aspect of the Hawk rather than Monkey after you get it anyway.
Q : Arcane Shot
E : Multi Shot
R : Macro for spamming all melee attacks
F : Rapid Fire
T : Auto Shot Toggle
G : Mount
S1 : Kill Shot
S2 : Serpent Sting
S3 : Aspect of the Cheetah
S4 : Aspect of the Viper
S5 : Misdirect Macro, targeting the pet
S6 : Disengage
SQ : Beast Wrath
SE : Intimidate
SR : Macro that casts Disengage and wingclip

How to change Windows XP Themes for SP3

So you want to be able to get some new lookin themes for windows XP without having to get the bloated theme packages.

Here is what you need to do:

Download a new UXTheme.dll file, there is a patched one available for Windows XP SP3. Direct Download Link

Also you might need to download 7z if you cant open RAR files.

Here is two methods of replacing the uxtheme.dll from the link above:

How To Replace Uxtheme.dll

1. First of all delete uxtheme.dll file from C:\Windows\system32\dllcache and C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

2. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32 and backup the original uxtheme.dll by renaming it or by copying it on your desktop.

3. Paste the patched or hacked uxtheme.dll (which you downloaded from here) to C:\Windows\system32.

* You should get a pop-up windows titled "Windows File Protection". Click on OK.

* You should then see a second Windows File Protection pop-up window asking you to insert your SP2 CD. Click on Cancel.

* You'll then get a third pop-up window asking you if you are sure you want to keep the unrecognized file. Click Yes.

* If you get another pop-us then ignore it and reboot your PC.

Second Method (Using Replacer)

1. Download Replacer and extract the content.

2. Run replacer.cmd. A black command prompt window should appear.

3. Browse to C:\Windows\system32 and find uxtheme.dll. Drag this file into the command prompt window. Press enter.

4. Drag in the unlocked (patched) uxtheme.dll into the command prompt window. Press enter.

5. Confirm the replacement and wait for Replacer to finish. Press any key when prompted.

6. Reboot.

So now you can download some sweet windows themes and install them by putting them in the C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes directory.

A Few nice ones are:

Clear Looks: Ported from Linux

SlanXP: A nice minimalistic black theme.

Aquanox VS: Blue and Shiney

Have a browse through the deviantart category for windows themes and find one you like.

Reputation Rewards worth grinding for hunters in WOTLK - The Oracles

So i was looking around for something to do now that im 80 on the hunter and i guess reputation grinding is as good as any. There are actually some decent gears to be had.

Here are a few i think ill be aiming for (if i can be bothered).

The Oracles : Those funny anti murlock dudes (Gorloc's) that you see in Sholazar Basin.

Here is a full list.

Where the hell is the Quatermaster?

His Name is Geen.

So what quests will we be getting bored doing over and over?

You need to start off with the quest: Playing Along from Tracker Gekgek.

The Hero's Burden at the end of the long quest chain, is kinda annoying as the end boss is bugged most of the time, you can tell this if the two elite dudes that spawn are still there and in combat with Artruis the Heartless, you have to choose which guy to kill when Artrios gets to about 33% and this will decide what reputation quest is unlocked. For Oracles you need to kill the Wolvar NPC during the fight.

Also if you want to Train up your weapon skills, Artrios is a nice ez place to do it while he is bugged.

Then after going through all that chain, you will be repeating the quest: Hand_of_the_Oracles
